Between 1848 and 1907 the production of beer was the primary resource at the Abbaye de Mont des Cats in France. The brewery was bombed in the first World War leaving the abbey dependant on cheese production. In 2011, the abbey revived its brewing tradition! The Trappist Abbaye de Scourmont in Chimay, Belgium agreed to brew this beer according to a recipe developed jointly with Abbaye de Mont des Cats. The result is sure to please all Trappist beer lovers.
